Welcome To Fairway Shelties

About Us:

We are located in Charlotte NC. In our home live 2 humans, 4 permanent party shelties and on occasion, puppies and visiting shelties. I, Jennifer Tuttle and my husband Scott reside in our suburban home with our dogs. I am an RN specializing in Hospice/Palliative Care and Oncology. Scott is the Head Golf Professional at a local private club in town. -----Yes, that is why our kennel is named Fairway!

Our 18 year old son, Adam, is a United States Marine and is currently serving his country at "K-Bay" in Hawaii. It is my sincere hope that he will be able to stay safely at home and that all our other men and women in uniform can come home soon---safe and sound.

Goal:

We are a small hobby 'kennel'. Our dogs are all indoor dogs and are truly our pets. Our goal is quite simple: To continue to perserve this wonderful breed. We try to accomplish this by breeding and showing only physically healthy, mentally sound shelties always using the AKC Standard as our guide. All proper health testing is performed on our shelties as recommended by the ASSA. We are actively involved with the Triangle Shetland Sheepdog Club of NC, tsscofnc.com . Finally, we love to talk with anyone who will listen about this exceptional breed.

For those who Wait:

Fairway Shelties is the result of a dream I've had since 1987 when I saw my first sheltie and read Sheltie Talk . Shortly thereafter I purchased my first companion sheltie. But Life has a tendency to get in the way and my dream of showing and possibly breeding shelties had to wait. I had a young family and was, at that time, on active duty with the US Air Force. I knew better than to start the process of breeding or showing shelties until I was able to do it RIGHT. So the time passed while I waited. But through all the years, all the changes, there were my shelties... every step of the way.

About 4 years ago I realized that the dream of showing beautiful shelties could come out of the little corner of my heart. The wait was over! I contacted some folks that helped me find "Merlyn". These people were quality show people and hopefully could help me on my way. ---And they have. I will be forever grateful to them.

Fairway Shelties is the fledgling realization of my dream. It is just beginning. I continue to learn everyday but I think Fairway Shelties is on a good road. With hard work, education, fun, support from friends and a little bit of luck, anything can happen!

I hope you enjoy my web site and my dogs. Come in and visit often as exciting things are happening. I guess what they say is true...'good things come to those who wait'.

It's Me!!
